The solar park spans an area of 57 ha and will generate an estimated 57 GWh of green electricity per year, equivalent to the consumption of more than 31,000 households, Engie Romania said in a press release on Wednesday.
The facility is Engie Romania's sixth commissioned solar park and will contribute to reducing carbon-dioxide emissions by about 5,056 tonnes annually and 177,000 tonnes over its entire lifespan, as per the press release.
"This project strengthens our position in the Romanian market, which has significant potential in the field of renewable energy, while also contributing to our goal of reaching an installed green energy production capacity of 1,000 MW by 2030," Engie Romania deputy general manager Cristian Buzan said.
Engie Romania now has an installed renewable capacity of 248 MW, including 178 MW wind and 70.3 MWp solar.
