Italian energy major ENI inaugurated on 3 May in Tataouine, in the south of Tunisia, the construction site for a photovoltaic plant with an installed capacity of 10 MW.

The project, which was awarded to the consortium between ENI and Tunisian National Oil Company ETAP following a public tender issued by the Tunisian authorities in accordance with the country’s licensing regulations, will supply electricity to the State-owned company Société Tunisienne de l’Electricité et du Gaz (STEG).

The project will be carried out by the new joint venture ENI-ETAP, which focuses exclusively on the production of energy from renewables.
