The national operator of Kazakhstan, JSC KazTransGas, has launched a high-tech compressor station Turkestan, which will increase the export of Kazakh gas to China, the press service of KazTransGaz reported on December 20.

The construction was implemented as part of an investment project to increase the throughput of the Beineu-Bozoi-Shymkent gas pipeline from 10 billion cubic meters year to 15 billion cubic meters per year.

“The operation of the new stations will allow the National Operator in the field of gas and gas supply to ensure maximum reliability of the process of uninterrupted gas transportation to the southern regions of Kazakhstan to meet the growing demand each year, especially during peak periods during the heating season,” Intergas Central Asia General Director Valentin Khvan said during the opening ceremony. “Today, the need of the south of the republic for blue fuel is about 5 billion cubic meters of gas per year. Along with this, the volumes of gas supply to the trans-Asian main gas pipeline “Central Asia – China” significantly increase, which will increase the export of Kazakh gas to China,” he added.
