Turkish company Demir Madencilik placed the highest bid of $351 million (254 
million euro) in a tender on Tuesday for the privatization of the 300 megawatt 
(MW) coal-fired Catalagizi thermal power plant, Turkey’s Privatisation 
Administration said.
The sell-off authority made the announcement in a 
statement on its website.
According to local news daily Dunya, the 
companies Elsan Elektrik Gerecleri Sanayi ve Ticaret, Alsim Alarko Sanayi ve 
Ticaret, Limak Insaat Sanayi ve Ticaret and IC Ictas Enerji Uretim ve Ticaret 
also took part in the tender.
