A representative of Austria's oil company OMV AG (OMV.VI) met Iran's oil minister Bijan Zanganeh Thursday in Vienna, an Iranian official said.

The representative declined to comment to reporters after exiting the meeting and a company spokesperson also declined to comment.

OMV is among a string of Western oil companies approached by Iran after being forced to pullout by a European Union ban on investing in the country's oil sector.
