state-run energy producer Nuclearelectrica shut down unexpectedly earlier
Wednesday, company officials told Mediafax.
"Unit 2 has been shut down, for causes yet unknown," Nuclearelectrica
General Manager Dumitru Dina told reporters. He said the problem wasn't
serious.
Nuclearelectrica operates two 700-megawatt reactors at its nuclear power plant
in Cernavoda, covering around 20% of

The latest unscheduled shutdown in Cernavoda took place in November last year,
when the Unit 2 stopped automatically due to a computer malfunction.
Nucleareletrica is majority owned by the state, through the Economy Ministry.
