Google Inc. (GOOG) announced Thursday that it made a $75 million equity investment in a 50-megawatt wind farm in Rippey, Iowa, developed by RPM Access.

The wind project is contracted to sell power to the Central Iowa Power Cooperative.

Google said its committed renewable-energy investments now total more than $990 million.
