Changes in road tax that drivers will have to
pay in the next couple of months include hikes for newer cars and
reductions for older vehicles.
The Finance Ministry’s decision for the 2016 road tax, likely payable
by mid-January, will also abolish exemptions granted to about 96,000
vehicles registered since November 2010, meaning their owners will also
enter the road tax-payers’ list.
Vehicles registered up until 2000 will see tax cuts ranging from 5.66
to 6.82 percent, while vehicles registered after November 2010 and
emitting over 100 micrograms per kilometer will pay extra road tax
ranging from 4.55 to 6.67 percent.
