Serbian state-owned power utility Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS) said
on Thursday its electricity output fell 14.6% to 31,963 GWh in
2014.
Record floods damaged the Balkan state's energy infrastructure in
May last year, disrupting power production and the operation of coal mines that
supply EPS' biggest power stations.
Final electricity consumption in
Serbia amounted to 33,575 GWh last year, down 13.1% from 2013, the power utility
company said.
EPS' thermal power plants produced a total of 20,454 GWh of
electricity in 2014, down 22.9% on the year, while hydro power output rose 6.7%
to 11,455 GWh. Combined heat and power plants generated 63 GWh of electricity in
2014.
Coal production at EPS-operated mines totalled 29.2 million t in
2014, down from 39.5 million t a year earlier.
The company's overall
customers numbered 3.55 million in 2014.
The total net output capacity of
the EPS power generation facilities added up to 7,124 megawatts at the end of
2014.
