The government will request the deepest cuts in the service area of Kansai
Electric Power Co. (9503.TO) in western
Japan
,
where industrial and household electricity users will be asked to cut power
usage by at least 15% compared with maximum levels in the summer of 2010.
The usage cuts are planned to be implemented between the hours of
9AM
and
8PM
in
the period running from July 2 through Sept. 7.
The request to cut power usage will not apply in
Japan
's
summer holiday season between Aug. 13 and Aug. 15, the report said.
