The European Commission cleared Friday Germany's automotive industry supplier ZF Friedrichshafen AG to buy Belgian company Hansen Transmissions International NV (HSN.LN), a maker of wind turbine gearboxes.
The European Commission cleared Friday Germany's automotive industry supplier ZF Friedrichshafen AG to buy Belgian company Hansen Transmissions International NV (HSN.LN), a maker of wind turbine gearboxes.

"The Commission concluded that the transaction would not raise competition concerns because of the parties' moderate market shares and the presence of several strong, effective competitors," the commission, which has antitrust powers in the EU, said in a statement.
