Turkiyes Daily Power Consumption Down 5.73% on May 19

Daily electricity consumption in Turkiye decreased by 5.73% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 817,391 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday

Hourly power consumption peaked at 38,417 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 27,293 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 816,258 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a decrease of 5.55% compared to Wednesday.

Electricity production from hydropower plants constituted 23.2% of total generation, while wind and lignite plants contributed 21% and 14.5%, respectively.

On Thursday, the country's electricity exports amounted to 8,906 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 10,039 megawatt-hours.
