The gas pipeline will connect Indjija in northern Serbia to Bosnia's Novi Grad on the northwestern border with Croatia, stretching through the territory of the Serb Republic for some 320 kilometres, Srbijagas said in a press release on Tuesday.
The pipeline's annual capacity will be 1.2 billion cubic metres.
The estimated value of the project is 125 million euro ($149 million), the Serb Republic's public broadcaster RTRS reported.
The pipeline is part of the Balkan Stream project, which is an extension of Gazprom's TurkStream pipeline for the transit of natural gas to Europe.
Serbia completed in December 2019 the laying on its territory of about 400 km of pipes of the extension of the TurkStream pipeline for the transit of Russian natural gas to Europe from Turkey via Bulgaria, Serbia and Hungary.
The Serb Republic is one of two autonomous entities forming Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Federation.
