Russias Oil Revenue Down 33% Between Jan-May 2020

Russia's oil export revenue declined by 33% to $33.7 billion in the first five months of 2020 compared to the same period of 2019, data from the Russian Federal Customs Service showed on Tuesday

According to the data, the volume of oil exports in the country fell by 3% to 104.9 million tons in the first five months of the year compared to the same period last year.

Oil export revenue fell 6% to $121 billion last year compared to 2018.

Oil and gas exports account for about 40% of the federal budget in Russia.

The natural gas export revenue of the country's gas giant, Gazprom, also fell by 52.6% to $9.7 billion in the January-May period of 2020 compared to the same period last year.

Gazprom's natural gas export volume including via pipelines decreased by 23.3% to 73 billion cubic meters in the January-May period compared to the same period of 2019.
