Turkeys Daily Power Consumption up 1.33% on Sept. 17

Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 1.33% to 817,519 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 38,647 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its daily lowest point of 26,724 megawatt-hours at 07.00.

Total electricity production reached 821,958 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, with a 1.63% increase compared to the previous day. The majority of the output came from imported coal plants totaling 204,12 megawatt-hours.

Natural gas and hydroelectricity plants followed with 203,368 megawatt-hours and 169,450 megawatt-hours, respectively. Also on Tuesday, Turkey’s electricity exports were at 7,415 megawatt-hours, while imports reached 2,976 megawatt-hours.
