The decision was adopted in line with the decree on a program for the implementation of Serbia’s Energy Sector Development Strategy until 2025 with projections until 2030, eKapija reported. The working group is in charge of developing a decision-making scheme for the construction of energy facilities, as well as reviewing requests from project promoters. The working group will further propose lists of candidates for strategic energy projects and draft laws to regulate matters pertaining to projects.
Furthermore, the working group will monitor the realization of strategic energy projects and prepare annual reports for each of the projects in the electricity and natural gas sectors and submit them to the Energy Community (EnC) Secretariat.
The working group will also cooperate with the Projects of Energy Community Interest (PECI) coordinator and other stakeholders, as well as keep track of activities of relevant authorities concerning decisions on the construction of energy facilities to ensure deadlines are met. Minister of Mining and Energy Aleksandar Antić has been named chairman of the working group, while State Secretary at the Ministry of Mining and Energy Mirjana Filipović is the working group’s deputy chairwoman.
The group’s members include State Secretary at the Economy Ministry Branimir Stojanović; State Secretary at the Agriculture, Forestry, and Water Management Ministry Željko Radošević; Jovanka Atanackovic, assistant minister at the construction ministry; Aleksandar Vesić, assistant environmental protection minister; Miloš Banjac, acting assistant minister at the energy ministry; Milica Đurđević, acting assistant finance minister; and Dejan Popović, council chairman at the Energy Agency (AERS).
Members of the working group also include power utility Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS) acting General Manager Milorad Grčić; power grid operator Elektromreža Srbije (EMS) General Manager Jelena Matejić; gas company Srbijagas General Manager Dušan Bajatović; gas transport system operator Transportgas General Manager Stevan Dukić; oil transport system operator Transnafta General Manager Tomislav Basta; gas trader YugoRosGaz CEO Alexei Muratov, and Miroljub Antić, acting top man of YugoRosGaz-Transport.
