Turkeys Energy Import Bill up 1.4 Percent in Dec. 18

Turkey's energy import bill increased by 1.4 percent to nearly $3.92 billion in December last year compared to the same month in 2017, according to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute on Thursday.

The data shows that Turkey's overall import bill, including energy and other items, reached $16.55 billion in December last year, with energy accounting for 23.68 percent. The country's crude oil imports showed a 10.47 percent increase over the same period compared to December 2017.

Turkey imported approximately 2.11 million tons of crude oil in December 2018, up from 1.91 million tons for the same period in 2017.
