Turkey's energy import bill increased by 15.5 percent to nearly $3.6 billion in September from nearly $3.1 billion for the same month last year, according to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute on Wednesday

The data shows that Turkey's overall import bill reached $16.3 billion last month, with energy accounting for 22 percent. The country's crude oil imports showed a 12 percent decrease over the same period compared to September 2017.

Turkey imported approximately 2.08 million tons of crude oil last month, down from 2.35 million tons for the same period last year.
