Tavanir spokesman Mahmoudreza Haghifam said that currently Iran exports 200 to 250 megawatts of electricity to Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan.
He noted that the state-run company will increase its exports within the framework of the agreements reached with these countries.
"As soon as we are ensured about supplying (domestic needs for) electricity, we increase electricity exports, but our priority is to supply electricity to domestic customers in different seasons of the year," Haghifam said.
According to Iran's Tasnim news agency, the company had stopped supplying electricity to some neighboring countries, including Iraq, because of unpaid bills and a rise in domestic consumption in the summer.
