Iraq exported 1.9 million barrels a day of crude oil in May, up 8% on the 1.76 million barrels a day exported in April, the head of the State Oil Marketing Organization said Tuesday.

Iraq exported an average of 1.46 million barrels a day from its southern terminals at the Gulf, some 430,000 barrels a day from its northern Kirkuk oil fields via the Turkish port of Ceyhan , and some 10,000 barrels a day to Jordan via trucks, Falah Alamri told Dow Jones Newswires.

Revenue from crude exports in May was around $4.34 billion, compared with $4.222 billion in April, he said.

Iraq exported its crude at an average price of $73.70 a barrel in May, compared with $79.66 a barrel in April, he added.

Iraq 's total oil revenue for the first five months of 2010 reached more than $21.5 billion. Last year, Iraq 's oil revenues totaled $41.329 billion.

The country's oil exports over the last few months have been less than the 2 million-barrels-a-day target planned by the Iraqi Oil Ministry due to acts of sabotage and bad weather.
