Brazilian state-run energy company Petroleo Brasileiro SA (PBR, PETR4.BR), or Petrobras, said Wednesday it has discovered light oil in the northeast Sergipe Basin.

The company said the discovery was made at Well 1 BRSA 851 SES in the
SEAL-M-426 block. The company, however, didn't provide an estimate of the
discovery's potential volume.
Petrobras holds a 60% stake in the block, while IBV-Brasil controls the
remaining stake.
