China's electricity usage in August rose 14.69% on the year to 397.5 billion kilowatt-hours, the state-run Xinhua News Agency said Wednesday.

In the first eight months of the year, power consumption rose 19.34% from a year earlier to 2.8 trillion KWh, the report said.
