French utility Electricite de France SA (EDF.FR) will take a 20% stake in the OAO Gazprom (GAZP.RS)-led South Stream gas pipeline project in June, Interfax news agency reported Monday citing Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.

Putin, who spoke at a meeting with his Italian counterpart Silvio Berlusconi, also said capacity at Nord Stream pipeline may be increased from the planned 55 billion cubic meters a year, if needed.
