Austrian
power utility EVN will invest some 100 million levs ($69.7 million/51.1 million
euro) in a new cogeneration unit in Bulgaria's second largest city of Plovdiv.
The
company, which is the electricity distributor for Plovdiv and for southeast
Bulgaria, will build the unit with a combined capacity of some 50 megawatts near
the existing thermal power plant in the city, it said in a statement.
The
construction works will start in June and the unit is expected to become
operational by the end of 2011.
