European leaders were heading towards a compromise deal on an ambitious climate change package, Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, who had threatened to veto the deal, said Thursday.
"We are heading for a compromise," he told reporters on the margins of an EU summit in Brussels.
"Italy is on the way to getting all it wants," he added.
