Kazakhstan produced 4.9 million metric tons of oil in January, a year-on-year rise of 5.4%, Interfax news agency reported Wednesday, citing the country's statistics agency.

The statistics agency said gas condensate production increased 15.4% on the year to 1.06 million tons. Natural gas production stood at 2.7 billion cubic meters in January, also a rise of 15.4% on the year, Interfax reported.
