Italy's Edison (EDN.MI) is likely to submit a proposal for cooperation with Greece's 51% state-controlled Public Power Corp. SA (PPC.AT), financial newspaper Kerdos reports Thursday.

Citing unnamed sources, the paper says in addition to the two proposals that are under consideration by PPC - with Germany's RWE AG (RWE.XE) and local steelmaker Halyvourgiki SA - Edison is preparing to submit its offer for the construction of new power plants.

The paper adds that Endesa Hellas, a joint venture between Spain's Endesa SA (ELE.MC) and Greece's Mytilineos Holdings SA (MYTIL.AT), has already submitted its proposal to PPC.
