Russian oil producer OAO Lukoil Holdings (LKOH.RS) will take control of utility OAO TGK-8 (TGKH.RS) by the end of the year, the Vedomosti business daily Friday cited Chief Executive Vagit Alexperov as saying.

Astrakhan-based TGK-8 was acquired in October by IFD Capital, which belongs to Lukoil's controlling shareholders.

The oil company will require additional power capacity from 2009, when certain of its Caspian Sea projects come online.
