Iran and China are in talks to use the yuan to settle sales and purchases, Reuters reported Friday, citing unnamed sources.

Iran is China 's third biggest source of crude, the report said, adding that a yuan account may be set up in a Chinese bank for such an arrangement. Iran faces increasing sanctions, pushed for by Western powers, over its use of nuclear energy.
